Back on snow

by on Sep.02, 2009

I’m back on snow after  2 mondscn4541-petit1ths at home. I think it’s a record time off snow since I’ve joined the National Team!

Some time at home was really great. Although I can’t say it was really “time off”… I was still training at the gym and lots of biking every day… even with the weather we had in Québec! Only got caught once in the rain.

We are now training at Mount-Hood in Oregon. We stay in Hood-River about 50 minutes drive from the hill. Living down here is great! Hood-River looks upon the Columbia river and with the view we have from our rented house, we can see all the gorge and its kiters and wind surfers. This town and it’s river, are renowned for all wind sports. I love it here!

This year, the warm weather throughout the summer has really affected the reserve of snow up on Mount-Hood. We are hoping the conditions of the snow won’t deteriorate to badly until we go home on September 8th.

Training has been going well. I have to admit, training here is not my favourite because of the particular snow conditions. The slope is a bit steep and often the snow, well frozen slush I should say, make it quite challenging. It’s part of the game of course!

Today, is our day off. The weather is gorgeous, I think I might go wind surfing if the wind picks up. Have a great day everyone.

Thanks for reading and letting me know what you think. All your comments are really appreciated!
