World Cup Season officially started

by on Oct.14, 2009

Hello Everyone! I haven’t written in a while…

Well lot’s has happen since my last post!

dsc06571-petitFirst off, I went to a training camp in western Canada at Farnham glacier 10 days after the camp in Mount-Hood. It was a pretty special experience since we stayed down in Panorama village and got helicoptered up to the glacier every morning back and forth! The reason for this being; it was cheaper for the organizing company to use helicopters then to set up camp at the base of the glacier like they had done in the past.

We had 5 days on snow. Unfortunately, the glacier was much smaller then in the past. Training was good none the less. The goal of that camp was to test our equipment further and although we had only 5 days on the glacier, we were able to pin point some of our issues with the new plates. (Between the board and the bindings)
After that camp, we came home for only 2 days before jumping on an other plain, this time to Europe. We are still in Europe at the moment.

landgraaf09Our trip started in Landgraaf, Holland on October 3rd. Of course, Holland has no mountains, therefore no snowboarding… but they have SnowWorld, an interior ski center. It’s like being in a big fridge! Our first World Cup of the season is always there. It’s a parallel SL.
Personally, I enjoy the run if only it could be outside! It’s fairly flat and obviously the snow conditions are always the same year after year. I like flat runs, I like looking for speed.
I finished 10th this year… which is ok… I would love to be on the podium there, it’s my kind of place, so I can’t hide my disappointment in my 10th position.

Moving on, we are now in Austria, in Solden. Austria is gorgeous! We arrived here on Saturday and haven’t been able to go up on the hill yet due to terrible winds and bad weather.
Hopefully tomorrow is better and we can go up! We’ve been tying to occupy ourselves. Today, we went to a climbing gym in Imst, it was rad! We had so much fun.

Well let’s all cross fingers for tomorrow!
